All tiny houses intended to be transported on their own trailers must meet the requirements set out in the Australian Vehicle Standards Bulletin 1 (VSB1) for trailers with an aggregate trailer mass of 4.5 tonnes or less.

VIN & ROVER: Trailers must have a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), issued by the Commonwealth Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts (DITRDCA) upon approval.
Since July 2023, all new trailer builds must be approved through ROVER (ROad VEhicle Regulator). Before a trailer can be registered with your state registration authority, it must be approved in ROVER and entered onto the RAV (Register of Approved Vehicles).
